I decided to call him the 'Love Bug' in our house (very original, I know), and the idea is to try to help my kids think about doing nice things for one another. Whoever has it picks someone in the family to give it to and fills it with treats or notes or drawings or a homemade craft, or whatever they can think of, and puts a note on it, and ideally does something nice for the person (make their bed, schedule a play date with a younger sibling, promise to read them a book, etc.) and leaves it where they'll find it. Then it's that person's turn to pick someone and it gets passed around the family. My 10-year-old was super excited to be first and immediately disappeared. Later my 5-year-old son found it on his bed with some candy and a little toy and a note that said 'Dear Ty, I'm giving you sweets because you sweeten my life. Love, Preston.' Maybe Preston will write cards for Hallmark someday!

We have caught the bug! If ya love 'em, bug 'em! We love this little guy! It has been a perfect way for my kids to get in the spirit of giving and showing more love to each other. Even though they are older (18, 16 and 12), it has been fun to see them 'bug' each other in a good way. It's fun to see their big smiles when their brother or sister has tucked a little note or treat in the bug just to let them know they were thinking of them. When you get the bug, you have to 'bug' someone else, and so on. We keep that little guy busy everyday! It really has made a difference! We never grow out of needing to feel loved and appreciated.
